Jason Peist Creates Studio Concepts for Industrial Designer- John Greg Ball

Filed under: Designlines — admin @ 9:46 am

As part of his Architecture studies at New Jersey School of Architecture Jason Peist created the above three concepts for my future Industrial Design studio. His design incorporates my attachment to the prairie landscape and would be set into a rock face somewhere around Longview Alberta. The studio would provide a fabulous view of the Alberta rocky mountains, and lots of room for my ongoing design work.

What I appreciated most about Jason’ s work on this project was his collaborative approach. He asked me alot of questions, and wanted to understand how I create my own design work before beginning his design of the studio. We spoke alot about my prairie roots and how this building should be a piece of sculpture that would reflect the surrounding landscape. The finished studio (above right) has a real “prairie style” to it. Inside, a rock face works as a wall contrasting the intersecting wooden grid wall. Jason recently sent me some great renderings of the interior space, and now just need to save some money so we can start construction!
Thanks Jason! -JGB
